My Easter Almost 60 Years Ago

When my twin brother Dennis and I were 2 and 3 years old, we lived, along with our Dad, with our grandparents, John and Mollie (Koleber) Margheim in Hoisington, Kansas. This picture of Dennis and me with Grandpa and Grandma is precious to me because we were so close to them. They were good to us when we needed them and loved us unconditionally. This picture was taken about 1951, when my grandparents were 51 and 49 years old. At the time I thought they were really old and the styles at that time make them appear older than they were. Oh, those were good days! Posted by Picasa

I love hearing stories like yours. From ages 4 and 6, our two oldest grandsons and their mother lived here with us. I hope that something we did during the time they were growing up helped them on their way. We sure did enjoy having them here, the seeing the ball games and everything. The older one is over 21 and in the Navy, the younger one is almost 19 and in the Army. Like a lot of grandparents, we are busy praying for their safety these days.

You and your brother look so serious and cute in this picture. And I think you're right about the old styles; they did make people appear older.

This could be a picture of my brother and me when we were about the same ages.. with our parents. They married later in life and we weren't born until after several miscarriages. And we too were close to our grandparents!

You are right, the styles did make them look older!

Love your posts and the memories!

I too love hearing your stories and I know what that very unconditional love is like. We have been so blessed to have had that in our lives and it really shapes who we are today.

Becky, I love the new blog look, you have done an exceptionally beautiful job with it!

Thank you for sharing such wonderful memories.
