Usually in the wee hours, poor thing.

According to my gf's death certificate, his mother was *Orilla* CONN. My dad was the informant, so this was his gm. Well, he had the Conn part right, but it took 15 years to determine her name was ZERILDA, not "Orilla" or many spelling variations in censuses.

Of course, it wouldn't have taken so long if my dad had ever mentioned she and his gf were buried 80 miles away. A cemetery, btw, that my brother visited many times and never noticed the *huge* double stone (6 ft tall) with the surname that can easily be seen from the road 50 feet away!Harold's Daughterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07105616709661027188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1792877004956236052.post-56711212781534219832008-11-20T16:25:00.000-07:002008-11-20T16:25:00.000-07:00Becky, Just reread your entry and realized that Mc...Becky,

Just reread your entry and realized that McKern isn't relevant.

Good luck on future research.

BridgetAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1792877004956236052.post-28887153685290836792008-11-20T14:55:00.000-07:002008-11-20T14:55:00.000-07:00Becky, I'm researching the descendants of Michael ...Becky,

I'm researching the descendants of Michael and Sarah Pippenger Mckern, said to have married in NJ ~1763. I'm almost certain that the PA McKerns are not descendants. However, Michael was said to have had a brother, so there may still be a connection.

There is more McKern info on my website (http://genealogy.bridgetmckern.com/), as well as a link for email. I hope to hear from you--I would love to compare notes.

BridgetAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1792877004956236052.post-28825592620591655192008-11-19T09:56:00.000-07:002008-11-19T09:56:00.000-07:00Becky, I know how this feels minus the rewarding e...Becky, I know how this feels minus the rewarding end result. I enjoyed this one as much as the first. A number of years ago I was searching census records for my great grandparents and found them on the 1900 census, to my delight when I printed it and of course enlarged it(so I could actually read it) I discovered Regina Polus, my great grandmother's- grandmother! I was in 7th heaven for a long time! Thanks for sharing!Taylorstales-Genealogyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07373948767613206370noreply@blogger.com
