His company was called Lee & Shepard, and in 1872 this part of Boston was destroyed by the great fire, which may account for why both publishing houses went out of business later. Lee & Shepard became Lothrop, Lee & Shepard. Christopher Osgood was a close relative, but not one of my ancestors, since I have a plethora of Ipswich, Massachusetts ancestry. There are lots of Osgood marriages in my family tree with Symonds, Wards, Batchelders, etc. My Dad remembered his rich cousin Charles Stuart Osgood pulling up to the house in his limosine during the depression to deliver a Lionel Train set. The chauffeur left it at the door and Dad thought he was Santa Claus!Heather Wilkinson Rojohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17704949156266722016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1792877004956236052.post-1219953392530080692011-04-07T06:00:00.487-06:002011-04-07T06:00:00.487-06:00...the answer to the burning question, "How d......the answer to the burning question, "How does one turn an ordinary lunch into a blogworthy event?" It's funny how often little "coincidences" pop up in the world of genealogy. A pt came in with my maiden name and when I saw where he was from, I figured he was a realtive, I asked him his grandfather name and checked my ancestor app and sure enough we were 4th cousins... you never know!
